How to Get to Vibal Publishing House

Q: How do I get to Vibal?

For those lucky enough to have cars, just refer to the map above. That big dark yellow line is EDSA. Turn to right to Quezon ave (if you're going from SM North) -- you'll know you went the wrong way if you somehow end up at the Quezon Circle. Anyway, go along Quezon ave until you see Honda cars on your right or the Sanctuarium on your left horizon. Araneta ave should be on the same street as the Sanctuarium, so turn right there. (If you see Sto Domingo church on your right it means you passed it. Go back.) Go along Araneta ave and keep your eyes peeled for a Shell station -- take note of the big black gate just after it. That's Vibal. Note that you'll have to take a U-turn along Araneta ave to get to it though.

For the commuter: There are multiple ways to get there but the most important detail you'll need to remember is that it is very near the intersection of Quezon Ave - Araneta Ave. Worst case scenario, you could always just flag a taxi and tell him that.

a) Via MRT
Get off at the Quezon Ave station. Look around for the 7-Eleven near the station. Now there should be an overpass near that 7-Eleven. Go up that and turn left at the second stairs. There should be some jeepney stops there. Ride any jeep there and ask to be dropped off at the corner of Araneta avenue. You'll know you're near if you see the Sanctuarium (it's that big church.) Now get off the jeep. Go along Araneta avenue in the direction opposite the Sanctuarium until you see a Shell station. Pass through the pedestrian lane to get to it. See that big black gate? That's Vibal.

b) Via LRT
Get off at the 5th avenue station. There should be a convenience store nearby (forgot the name) with jeeps waiting a little far off. Ride one and ask to be dropped off at the Shell station near Quezon ave. The big black gate next to it is Vibal.

Alternatively, get off at the Sta Mesa station. Ride any jeep to Quiapo and ask to be dropped off at the Jollibee near Araneta ave. Cross the overpass and walk along Araneta ave in the direction opposite the Sanctuarium until you spot the Shell station. The black gate next to it is Vibal.

... I'm lost
So what do you do now that you see the ocean/mountains/farm animals? Well, I'd have to say you're screwed. Swallow your pride and flag a taxi. It's usually the easiest way to get where you need to go. But for those who can't afford one, you can text 09183009388 for help. Note that this offer is good only during 'Balasa' days and I cannot guarantee that you'll end up in Vibal depending on your location.

But what about those who can't afford a taxi and can't afford a single text message? Good luck. Try asking around for directions to get to Araneta ave/Quezon ave. Surely someone there might be able to lead you to the right way.
